Rhode Island Senator Jack Reed, who is traveling with Obama (and Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel) to Iraq later this summer, has told reporters that he is not interested in being Vice-President on the Obama ticket. The Senator’s VP stock rose when his trip with Obama was announced, but the Senator leaves no doubt with this statement.
He has further said that he has not been contacted regarding materials used in the infamous “vetting” process, and was thus apparently not on the Obama camp’s radar for VP even before this story broke.
