The Obama campaign recently released their fundraising figures for June, with receipts totaling $52 million. Fundraising for the campaign had steadily dropped since February and had raised a measly $21 million in May, leaving many to worry that Obama had reached his fundraising peak, and even worse, that he had made a mistake in not accepting public financing.
But, after the fight for the Democratic Party nomination wrapped up in early June, Obama had much more time to focus on fundraising from large donors, and those who had previously supported Hillary began to donate to Obama’s campaign.
