An Iraqi government spokesman said recently that the government hopes U.S. troops will leave Iraq by 2010. This announcement comes during Barack Obama’s visit to the region while he maintains his pledge to withdraw soldiers over a 16 month period after taking office. John McCain refuses to commit to a timeline and insists that American soldiers will remain until a stable government has been established.
